Problem Description

When using a USB wireless network card, you may sometimes need to specifically search for 2.4G or 5G Wi-Fi signals instead of letting the network card automatically search for signals across all frequency bands.

Solution

Take the EP - 1698 as an example. You can achieve the goal of searching for Wi - Fi signals within a specified frequency band by changing the "Wireless Mode" in the "Advanced" options of the network card properties.

Operation Steps

Step 1: Open the Network Card Property Settings
There are usually two ways to access the network card properties.

· Method 1: Navigate through "Control Panel" - "Network Connections", find the connection icon corresponding to the Realtek 8812bu USB wireless network card, right - click on it, and select "Properties".

· Method 2: Since the operation entry may vary depending on the operating system, you can also find the network card in the "Device Manager", right - click on it, and select "Properties".

Step 4: Save the Settings

Verify the Effect

After saving the settings, search for Wi - Fi signals again. At this point, the network card should only detect Wi - Fi networks within the specified frequency band.
